We have eyes to see but the distance of our eye-sight is rather short and we can’t see those people who are thousands of miles away from us. But, we want and we need to see those people because we miss them and this is another occasion when technology comes to help us. The video technology is something unbelievable. People were surprised with an appearance of video cameras in the market and they barely could believe that it is possible, but now it is not a wonder for people that you can tape anything you want with the help of camera. But, video technology today even more developed and people can see each other right here and right now and it is not the record but it is an online communication. Say, there is a person you miss much and you need to hear him or her right now and you need to see him or her right here and right now and you have such an opportunity and I guess it is great. You can reach people no matter how far away they are and you can see them right now. All you need is appropriate software and web camera and – here you – he or she on the screen.

People can’t fly but I guess they want to. I mean, each person would like to know how it feels when you are flying and see this world like birds see it. Though, we have no wings and a number of stuff and that is why we can’t fly. But I guess this desire appeared to be strong enough for people to find a way to fly and they have created plains and the whole flying stuff. Today, every single bird’s-eye-view lover can make his or her dream come true and fly over this world and see everything he or she wants to see. We have plain in order to run counter the gravity law and we are successful in this activity. It is the bland of technology and desire that makes people fly and I guess it is another great achievement. Though, still we are not birds and every time we fly above this world and see tiny cities we undergo a risk to fall down and smash like something extremely fragile. People used to have miracles in their lives and now people have technology that is a great alternative for miracle and this alternative provides people with everything they need, though it sometimes takes a lot.

There were days when there was no sound for people; I mean there was no artificial sound that comes from speakers or something. But, those days are gone and let them be gone and think about sound technology we have today. It is a rather developed technology and it is far and far away from that mono sound people used to have. There is no mono sound anymore and there is the stereo sound for people. Though, it is also more like archaism today because sound technology was greatly developed and today people have acoustic systems that make artificial sound sounds like real. Say, you buy acoustic system with all those speakers and sub-woofers and so on and so forth and all you have to do, is to place those in right order at home or car or whatever. And your sound will be something unbelievable and you will be stroked with it. It is like voices and sounds are all around you and it seems like you are not listening for that music but you are covered and surrounded with music. And if watching a movie it is like you are the part of that movie and there you are in that same forest or something.

We used to have nothing to make our life convenient but those times are gone and today we have everything we need and everything that makes our life as convenient as it only can be. Technology supplies us with the whole stuff we need in order to apply less physical efforts to get what we need/. It is great that people appeared to be that smart but it is common for a coin to have two sides and the other side of all those conveniences is that we are helpless now without them. In case there is something wrong with the whole machinery that controls and makes our world we will be helpless to fix something because there are too much controlled with those machines we have made. We made those to help us and now we depend on those in all possible way. With the technical progress people turn themselves into helpless babies who need the permanent help of machines, because without those machines we are helpless. It is the other side of the coin and it is not the side to frighten you, but it is the side to make you think over.

Technology has affected society and its surroundings in a number of ways. In many societies, technology has helped to develop more advanced economies (including today’s global economy) and has allowed the rise of a leisure clas.

Nowadays parents are increasingly worried about safety of their children, and because of this, they do not let their children out to play. As a result children are no longer playing outside but shutting themselves away in their rooms and losing themselves in individualistic activities such as television watching and computer games. But it doesn’t mean that children really don’t want to stay at home. Today, children are likely to stay at home and play computer, watch TV, rather than going and playing outside with other kids. On average children devote 5-6 ours a day to screen media. This type of children can be classified as so called screen addicts. As the use of personal computers proliferates, reading skills are expected to suffer.

Many social organisations are calling for the need to cultivate children’s interest in sport and other related activities. Maybe parents should devote a bit more time to their children, and, probably, this problem will be solved.

The technology craze has turned the whole world around in the last ten years. Things that were once impossible are now the norm, and our world is better for the technology that allows it. Troops overseas are no longer completely disconnected from families; medical technology means a healthier state of living with a lower mortality rate, and on top of all that we are having more fun.

With the influx in technological dependence, many people are adjusting to living in a world that is nearly unrecognizable. Fear is usually the main staple separating someone from embracing the new technology that most of us factor in. baby boomers in particular have had struggles adjusting to the new way of life. For those who are still rather fearful of the technology advancements and how they impact better living, taking simple advancements on at a time with a patient source of help can improve your world. Once you see how easy it is to improve your life via technology, the rest will come easily and without fear.

The internet, cell phones, and even television have become the heart of a technologically advanced world. With the up and coming technology advancements, you can bet that there will be more to learn and more to change. Those who start learning to navigate the new world now will not be left out as more changes erupt and make our life more connected and easier. Technology requires human balance. As long as there is human contact and human interest at heart the computers of the world can never replace the human soul.

Modern technologies are vanity of vanities. We strive for better life and think that only the sphere of high technologies will determine our life comfort in future. The fact that the sphere of high technologies is regarded to be the main one can be proved by a huge number of innovations in this sphere. The most backward is sphere is agriculture as usual. I think that with the lapse of time we will understand that the sphere of high technologies, being very important is not crucial in creating our comfort. In some years there will be decline in this sphere. People buy new models of mobile pones, new TV sets, DVD players, etc. only because they arte new. Curiously enough old appliances are still ok, they still work very well, but they are thrown away only because new and up-to-date technologies appear. This behavior of consumers is dictated by fashion. Fashion determines your action on the market. People throw away everything only because it is out of fashion and buy everything new only because it is fashionable. This is vanity of vanities. People rash for something because they are unaware of real values. All these innovations are tinsel. Do you think your money, which are very often earned hard are worth spending for something to demonstrate your fashion and social status. It turns out that you live for other people and not for yourself. If you live for yourself, you py no attention to unnecessary things and simply enjoy life.

Nowadays technologies develop so rapidly that it is very difficult to prognosticate our life in some years, to say nothing about coming centuries. At present we can see innovations, were impossible to imagine some years ago. They facilitate our life and help us in different situations. On the one hand it is very good that our life becomes more and more comfortable but on the other hand, I am afraid that in some years there will be an opportunity simply to lie on a sofa and think what you want. Your home appliances will understand your thoughts and will implement them at once. For example, imagine a situation, when you want to watch TV and your TV-set switches on immediately when you have thought that you want to watch something. Another example: your vacuum cleaner cleans your room when there is a lot of dust in it and don’t even follow it. These fantasies may become reality very soon. What will happen to people in this case? There will be no need to walk along your house, as everything will be done by your reliable partners- your home appliances, which will do everything themselves without your assistance. Perhaps, people will be very glad, that their life will remind paradise. However, they will gradually become fat and motionless. Movement is life and absence of movement is death. If you will have an opportunity to avoid all movements at all, you will become a living corpse. This is a very dangerous and sad prospect for future times. I think that this is inevitable. Once we had TV sets without remote control, we didn’t have mobile phones and now we have them. That is why I prefer not to think about the future in order to avoid sad thoughts about the process of development for our mankind.

I am very happy that I live in this epoch of advanced technologies. When I read something from history or watch a historical movie, I understand that in past times life was very hard and things we do now with the help of our home appliances and other modern conveniences were once done manually and took much effort. Just imagine our life without the Internet. Our parents remember these times. Everything was much more difficult than now. Today if you need some information, you can get it sitting at home. You don’t have to call your friends, or find it in a library. All information is now available and is easy to search.
Another achievement is television. Though it was invented long ago in comparison with the Internet but I think that it is still the most popular occupation for the majority of people, when the have free time. Television has much to offer for people of all ages and interests. Moreover it doesn’t require your active participation in this activity. In this case you are simply a passive recipient of information. Despite this fact it very amusing and informative. There are many people, who don’t like to read and television for them is the only way of getting information about the world and events, which happen in it.
Radio is very useful as well. It prevents us from boredom and is always at one’s fingertips. It gives us an opportunity not to be bored, think about something pleasant and so on.
